ICD10Insight is an independent reference tool designed for medical coders, billers, and healthcare students. The creator of this tool holds a diploma in Medical Billing & Coding and has practical coding experience.
What ICD10Insight is
ICD10Insight is a fast, plain-English lookup for ICD-10-CM. It covers the full FY 2027 tabular list along with Excludes 1 and 2 notes, the official coding guidelines, Medicare LCD/NCD coverage, and two tools that speed up day-to-day coding work: ICD10Insighter, which reads a de-identified clinical note and suggests codes, and the Claim Validator, which checks a set of codes for Excludes conflicts before submission.
The goal is simple: give coders, billers and clinical staff a reference they can trust, that answers in seconds and always shows the source behind the answer.
Our data
Every code on this site is drawn from the official CMS ICD-10-CM release for FY 2027 (effective 1 October 2026): 98,161 codes across 22 chapters, of which 74,465 are billable. Coding guidelines come from the official ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, and coverage information comes from the CMS Medicare Coverage Database.
AI is used only for spelling correction in search and for parsing clinical notes. It is never used to generate coding data, and every AI-suggested code is checked against the official dataset before it is shown.

How we keep content current
The site is rebuilt whenever CMS publishes a new ICD-10-CM release or addenda, and the FY 2027 dataset is the current live version. Guide and explainer articles carry a published and updated date, and the Changes section shows exactly what moved in the most recent release.
